Everything Bakuman.!

I’ve just finished all three seasons of Bakuman! I mentioned this before, but this is the first anime in a while that I just couldn’t stop watching. I guess when a shounen gets it right, it really gets it right huh. I was totally hooked, and watched 75 episodes in one week! You can do the math on that one, time lost it’s meaning every night once I put Bakuman on. And so I have plenty to write about!

Before I dive into the details, I just wanted to write some spoiler free words about Bakuman. If you haven’t watched Bakuman, you can expect the following: excellent character development, a wide and eccentric cast of characters, tension / comedy and everything inbetween, an incredible shounen-esque journey – all in a story setting that is unconventional for typical shounen. It really is a great anime, one that I know I will remember for a very long time. Bakuman may very well have just become my favourite shounen anime over this last week, it’s well worth a watch!

Boku no Hero Academia – Best Ongoing Shounen Anime?

Is Boku no Hero Academia the best ongoing shounen anime? I think it might be. It’s definitely up there with some of the best. I am a huge One Piece fan and I’m still considering it. I might be forgetting some others that are still currently airing / announced that are also contenders.

Anyways, the point is that Boku no Hero Academia is straight up awesome. It’s a very memorable anime that really stands apart from other shounen anime, despite having many of the core qualities of a shounen. Also recently a 3rd season of Boku no Hero Academia was confirmed, although there are no other details about it yet to my knowledge.

All Might is as super as it gets.

Some Good Lengthy Anime

Sometimes I think that 12/13 episodes is the perfect length for an anime, but it really depends on many factors. Plot complexity, number of major characters, and also plot length (ex. foreshadowing future enemies) can have an impact on how many episodes an anime needs to hit that perfect number of episodes.

There are a few exceptions, such as One Piece, that manage to hit a level of success that the manga can continue writing and the anime can continue development. Watching the plot and characters develop over 800+ episodes is pretty great in the case of One Piece.

One Piece is a great adventure – well worth watching.
