As Ecchi As It Gets.

Keeping up with my new tradition (2 posts) of writing about whatever on Sundays, I had the idea of writing about some of the ecchiest anime I’ve seen. The idea came from talking to Lynn Sheridan about Dewbond’s favourite anime, Shinmai Maou no Testament. And that’s about when I figured, why not parse my anime list and pick out the ecchiest of them all?

And that’s where we are now.

Now that you are up to date, let’s talk ecchi anime.
There may be ecchier anime out there, but here is a list of the ecchiest that I personally have watched.

Heads up that I don’t have many ecchi images saved on my computer or on this blog, so none of the pictures I show here have anything to do with anything!

Be warned, this post contains descriptions of ecchi scenes from ecchi anime!

It’s Rewatch Time.

A while back I posted about 9 anime I wanted to rewatch, and if you haven’t noticed, I’ve actually started to follow through with this!

What can I say? I’m a man of my word.

To be honest though, this is something that sort of just happened, or began to happen. And so far, the nostalgia has been outstanding.

This post is my attempt to stall for time while I get some of these rewatch posts ready.

5 Common Tsundere Archetypes

Nothing like a good tsundere.. right? Maybe?

One thing I’ve realized in my anime watching career is that I’ve come to understand that there are different types of tsundere, some that I like, and others that I don’t. I used to lump all tsunderes together, and say that I wasn’t a fan of them. Turns out I was just naive, as there are different types and levels of tsundere, some that I like, and others that I don’t.

I know that there are a million different “-dere” archetypes out there, but I’ll just focus on the tsundere in this post. I’m no expert though, so maybe you all have different opinions on this. I may even be overlapping a bit with other “-dere” types with what I write here.

Also, in this post I assume the tsundere is female, because that’s what I most commonly witness in anime. It’s just easier for me to write with this assumption, so that’s what I did. I know that there are male tsundere characters out there as well.

My Anime… Guilty Pleasures.

We’ve all got those anime that we love that just hit the spot, right?
Ratings, popular opinion, and well thought out arguments mean nothing when it comes to those special anime or anime genres that can do no wrong.

Maybe it’s not a genre, maybe it’s just a single character. Or a type of character. Just something that makes even the most intolerable anime tolerable. Calling it a guilty pleasure may not be the best way to describe it though, because enjoying certain aspects of an anime shouldn’t be associated with guilt.

How about… anime vice? Anime indulgence?

The ecchi take on this idea might be something like … “If it has breasts, I’m in!”.
Anyways, I’ll divulge some of my own anime vices / indulgences here.

8 More Anime Clichés, For No Particular Reason

Let’s look at some more anime clichés! No theme to these, just a list of some more clichés. I’ve already written 2 posts containing various anime clichés, why stop there? The first one had a theme of clichés that I wasn’t a fan of, the second didn’t have a theme… and neither does the third…

Previous posts can be found here: (Post 1 & Post 2).

And with that, here are 7 more anime clichés, for no particular reason!

5 Times I Cheered For The Antagonist / Villain

Sometimes you just gotta cheer for the opposition. Maybe the anime didn’t develop the “good” main characters enough, or maybe you just don’t like them. Or maybe you actually sympathize with the enemy. Or the antagonist / villain is just a really interesting character. Whatever it is, it happens sometimes. I’m not sure if it’s ever explicitly intended, but it’s an interesting occurrence.

And with that, here are 5 times I cheered for the antagonist / villain in anime. Not a top 5, so the order doesn’t actually hold any significance here.

Spring 2018 Is Ending, What Should I Watch? + The Growing To-Watch List

Now that Spring 2018 anime is coming to a close, I’m trying to sort out my list of anime that I have bookmarked and considered watching at some point. I’m sure many of you have much more extensive lists than this though. My problem is that sometimes an anime gets bookmarked and just sits there forever because I don’t actually want to watch it due to some excuse or another.

Now that I have a bunch of Spring 2018 anime on the list, and less time to watch anime than I used to have (thanks to activities such as writing a post about my growing to-watch list instead of actually watching anime), I kind of want to get some opinions here if possible.

Think of this like a spring cleaning for my to-watch list! There’s no way I’d find the motivation to clean on my own, so help your pal out! We are all friends here after all.

Anime Clichés 2 – Electric Boogaloo

Ever since I published my first post on 7 Anime Clichés I Could Live Without, I’ve been thinking of more clichés!

A mainstay of anime, clichés play an important role in comedy as well as other areas. I think that some clichés are great at first, but quickly lose their appeal. Others are just part of Japanese culture I guess? Or maybe it’s just anime culture.

Anyways, here are 8 more anime clichés that we have all witnessed at some point.

When the writing gets tough, resort to clichés.

Top 12 Recurring Anime Gags

There’s nothing quite like a gag that keeps coming up in anime that while repetitive, manages to make me laugh every time. I’ve watched a few anime recently that gave me the idea of making a list of my favourite recurring gags. The only real requirement for this list is that the gag shows up at least twice. I was a little liberal with this list, and decided to include gag characters, due to their recurring nature.

Also I didn’t count anime where the “gag” is core to the anime itself, for example: Handa Sei (from Handa-kun) and his paranoia. I really enjoyed Handa and his reactions to what was going on around him, but I think that at this level it’s become more than just a gag.
