And here we have the second Akatsuki track that was released recently, part of the HELLOHELL album. This one, Reverse Rebirth Trigger, was released on YouTube on July 29th.
The name for this song is a fun little play on the katakana リバース (“rebasu”), which can both mean “Reverse” and “Rebirth”, as that’s what both of these words end up becoming when converted into kana. So while リバース (“rebasu”) is only written once in the title, it can simultaneously hold both meanings.
Akatsuki recently released two songs from their newest album on YouTube, also titled HELLOHELL, so looks like I’ve got a few to write about as they’re both excellent.
HELLOHELL is first up, having released on YouTube on July 22nd.
Let’s take a look at the latest from Akatsuki Records – VENTEN!
It’s a good one. Real good. If you listen to anything by Stack (the vocalist), let it be this!
The song this time is 酔生夢死 -Hedonism-.
酔生夢死 basically means something along the lines of drinking until you die, or drinking your life away. The dictionary definition is “idling one’s life away”. But the kanji, in order, are “drunk”, “life”, “dream”, “death”, so you can sort of infer the meaning from that haha.
Been a while since I got around to listening to Akatsuki Records.
Or at least, posting about it, because I’ve been listening to it quite a bit lately.
Akatsuki Records is out with another song on their YouTube, released on Valentines’ Day.
The song is called Necromantic!
I’d like to point out that it feels like the Japanese are better at English wordplay than we are, because wordplay is ingrained in their own language. Maybe it’s because of all the exposure I’ve had to Japanese media compared to English media over the past several years, but it certainly feels like they are more apt to try out wordplay in the first place than we are. Necromantic is a pretty cool one.
And it’s basically what you’d expect, a sort of zombie themed romance song. Something that both Chihiro Furuya and friend of the blog Lynn could get behind, I’m sure!
We were blessed with one other song by Akatsuki Records, just before Christmas time. And that was イドラ・デウス -The Creator-, or Idol Deus -The Creator-.
They’re back!
Not that they were ever gone, but we’ve got two new songs on the Akatsuki YouTube channel. Which means I get two more songs to write about!

Best of their YouTube releases, at least.
The songs that I’ve covered here, once per week, until there were none left to write about! Time flies.
I figure I can’t just end it there. I also have no idea when they will add another song. It’s been 3 months, so maybe soon, but it all depends on whoever is creating the PVs for their songs, because that seems to be the requirement for them to put a song on the YouTube channel for all to hear.
This is it folks, the final song on the Akatsuki Records Youtube channel. After this it’ll probably be only once every few months, depending on how often they release new PVs for songs.
And I’ve saved the best for last.
Or at least, the longest for last.
I’m still not sure where I’d rate this one, but here it is: First Memory / Next Memory, a song that is essentially two songs in one! I believe they are separate songs on the official album, but for their YouTube it seems they decided to string them together.
