Kino no Tabi: The Beautiful World (Spoiler Free Review)

Wasn’t entirely sure what to watch from this studio (A.C.G.T.), so I decided to just go for their highest rated entry – Kino no Tabi: The Beautiful World.

I had no idea what to expect, what this anime is about, nothing. Just one glance at the poster on MAL and that was it. It seemed like it was going to be something sort of intense maybe. In the end, Kino no Tabi ended up being unlike any other anime I’ve seen.

Sakurada Reset Review (Spoiler Free)

Next on the list is A-Sketch.

Once again we’ve reached a studio / producer (producer this time) that had several good looking options to choose from. Noragami, Yamada-kun and the Seven Witches, Sakurada Reset, and the recently aired Kakushigoto.

Well, I’d already seen the first two on that list (Yamada-kun twice). So it ended up being between Sakurada Reset and Kakushigoto. I ended up deciding on Sakurada Reset because of the mystery tag.

So, how was it?

Urawa no Usagi-chan Review (Spoiler-Free)

The review this time around is Urawa no Usagi-chan, by studio A-Real.

A series of short 3-minute episodes, this anime was created to try and advertise the city / ward of Urawa, in Saitama, Japan.

Now if you look at it on a map, Urawa is just swallowed up inside what I’d call the Greater Tokyo Area, although I don’t know the exact borders of such a thing. It’s just not distinctly separate from the rest of the sprawling metropolis that begins in Tokyo and moves outwards in all directions.

But I guess someone in the Urawa city governance decided to try something bold to entice people to visit, and so this anime was created.

Scrapped Princess (Mostly Spoiler-free) Review

So the whole anime studio challenge has been on hold for a while now, and I swear it’s not my fault. I had a post drafted and ready to go for Elfen Lied, and was about to post it a while go, when all of the sudden I check A-Line’s page on MAL and Elfen Lied is no longer listed.

Not sure what that was about, but anyways, 24 episodes of Scrapped Princess later and we’re ready to resume! I don’t know if it’s a producer or studio, I don’t even care to look it up, really, it doesn’t matter.

There will be minor spoilers in this one.
That said, the tags for this anime on MAL also spoil what I’ll be writing about here.

Anime Studio Challenge: A-Craft’s Ousama Game The Animation (Spoiler-free Review)

Continuing on with the A studios / producers, we’ve got A-Craft, and their only listed work – Ousama Game The Animation. At first glance, you may notice the 5.01 rating and think “oh no”, but… well…

I’ve gotten through all 12 episodes of the anime in one piece, meaning it can’t be that bad right? Right.

Once again, this will be a primarily spoiler-free review, as I won’t name names or delve into the plot itself. However, I HAVE to talk about the tone, pace, and things like this if I’m to sort this anime out properly. In addition, if it’s mentioned in the anime’s synopsis, I’m considering it fair game here.

So no plot details spoiled, but some aspects will be spoiled…

Anime Studio Challange: A-1 Pictures’… Eromanga-sensei! (Spoiler-free Review)

So we’ve come across what appears to be a pretty big anime studio… A-1 Pictures. Have any of you heard of this one?

Anyways, after looking through so many options, I decided to watch what I imagine is A-1 Pictures’ magnum opus: Eromanga-sensei! If any anime will give me an idea of what this studio is about, it’s Eromanga-sensei, right?

I figured that was the case.

Alright, here we go folks.
The defining anime of A-1 Pictures… are you ready?

Spoiler free, of course.
I just can’t bring myself to spoil content in my reviews anymore.

Anime Studio Challenge: 8bit's Rewrite (Review)

Funny story, I was actually planning on re-watching Rewrite, and then I didn’t have to thanks to this anime studio challenge.

And.. that’s the story.

So the studio / producer this time is 8bit, who actually has worked on plenty of other anime such as Infinite Stratos, that slime anime, The Fruit of Grisaia + sequel and more.

Anyways, from what I’m seeing, Rewrite looks like 8bit’s best work.

Anime Studio Challenge: 81 Produce’s Salaryman Kintaro (Spoiler-free Review)

Been a while since I’ve tackled one of these, or so you’d think! In reality, I accidentally skipped over this studio (producer) and watched anime for the next 5 or so studios before coming back to this one.

Well, 81 Produce isn’t a studio, but a producer. They’ve worked on some big titles, like Konosuba, Kakegurui, and How Not to Summon a Demon Lord. But I’ve seen all of those, so I opted for something different – Salaryman Kintaro!

Anime Studio Challenge: 5pb.'s Yahari Ore no Seishun Love Comedy wa Machigatteiru. Zoku: Kitto, Onnanoko wa Osatou to Spice to Suteki na Nanika de Dekiteiru OVA (Review)

Unfortunately 5pb. isn’t the studio but a producer, so I wasn’t able to binge all of SNAFU for a third time. In fact, this OVA is the only SNAFU-related media that 5pb. worked on.

I could have gone with Myself; Yourself, a romantic drama anime that I’d never heard of and could be pretty good. But then I decided to just go with the SNAFU OVA because I hadn’t seen it anyways…

In the spirit of transparency once again I’ll disclose here that I skipped over Licensor 4Kids Entertainment. Everything they’ve done is either a long shounen or a related movie. I could have gone with a movie but in the end I decided to just move on.

Anyways, as this is a single OVA episode, I’m going to treat this more like I would an episodic post, and just go over the synopsis and my thoughts.

Anime Studio Challenge: 3xCube's Jitsu wa Watashi wa (Actually, I Am…) (Review)

Alright, another anime studio challenge review.
This time, it’s 3xCube’s Jitsu wa Watashi Wa.

There were only two choices here, so it was basically either a supernatural school harem, or an adventure romance. And I went with the school harem, of course! In reality I was just in the mood for some comedy.

In the spirit of transparency I will disclose that I did skip the studio / producer 33 Collective, whose only work was a 40 episode children’s show. I hadn’t originally factored kids shows into the rules, but I’ll probably end up skipping those too if they are the only option. We’ll see though on a case-by-case basis…

Spoiler-free as usual.
