As you all know, I recently put out a call for questions to celebrate the Umai Yomu Anime Blog’s existence. And you delivered, more than I could have imagined!
So thank you to all of you for such great questions, giving me something to write about here in a post. I hope you all enjoy my answers to your awesome questions! 🙂
If you had three wishes, what would you wish for?
In order, I would wish for:
- A large cookie dough blizzard from Dairy Queen.
- A second futon.
What would you rather throw away: love or money?
Money, no question about it.
What’s the most beautiful place you’ve ever seen?
Where I am now (Nagano Prefecture) could definitely be a good contender for that. I feel like I’ll never get tired of these mountains. Recently the leaves have been changing colour, and soon they’ll be topped with snow. Looking forward to that, and love the changing scenery here.
What is your fondest memory of high school?
I have so many good memories of high school, it’s hard to choose. I’ll go with the trip to Washington DC that I went on with a bunch of friends when I was in grade 12.
Honestly, while I was sick of high school by the end of grade 12, my fondest memories are mostly from that year, and especially from the second term where I had a first period spare and only 3 classes: calculus, religion (Catholic school) and communications technology.
Comm. tech in particular was awesome, because my friends and I would quickly finish our work and then play games like Counterstrike 1.6 or Unreal Tournament on the LAN network.
What’s your favourite TV show?
I haven’t watched TV for close to a year now, so I’ll go with something older and pick Mythbusters, which was one of my favourite shows to watch when it was still around.
What’s the strangest thing in your fridge?
There’s not much in there to begin with!
I have strawberry flavoured kit-kats, as well as chestnut flavoured kit-kats, so maybe those could be considered strange. I also have a ball of pizza dough that I just made earlier today, which I’ll be using tomorrow.
Although by the time this post is published, I’ll already have made and eaten the pizza.
Would you rather hear the music of Johann Sebastian Bach played by a barbershop quartet, or a heavy metal band?
Interesting question there Yomu.
I mean if it’s just once, may as well see how well the barbershop quartet sounds, right?
Have you ever been to a five star resort?
What was your favourite toy growing up?
Does LEGO count?
What’s the funniest way you’ve ever broken the law?
The only laws I’ve ever broken were traffic speed laws, so I guess technically that’s the funniest way I’ve ever broken the law.
What’s your favourite sports team?
The Toronto Blue Jays!
What talent would you want to possess if you could?
Singing. I wish I had a wider vocal range. I try my best to work on it in the car, but I don’t know how much I can really get out of my voice. So just having the talent would be handy there.
If you could trade lives with someone, who would it be?
I wouldn’t do it.
If you could erase one event from history, which one would you erase?
I guess I’ll erase the “invention” of pineapple on pizza.
Once I went to have pizza with friends to celebrate something in university, and they ordered Hawaiian pizza (I know it was invented in Canada), and I had to chip in for it which sucked. Plus sometimes it’s just there when pizza is ordered for something, which is always a total bummer.
Who do you most like to poke fun at?
I feel like I poke fun at all my friends, hard to say which I like doing it to the most. I don’t know, all of them.
If you were suddenly transported to another planet, how would you assess the situation?
First I would check if there was any oxygen.
Then I would probably die.
When do you feel the most in control?
Would you rather have 10 hobbies or one passion?
I feel like I already have 10 hobbies and no real passion, so I guess I’ll stick with that!
What’s your favourite movie?
If you could interview a famous person, who would you choose?
That’s a tough one, because I’m a very busy man.
I’m not sure if I could slot in the time to interview myself.
If your food is bad at a restaurant, do you say something?
Only if there’s something clearly wrong with it. If I just ordered something I shouldn’t have, or it’s something I know but not done a way I like it, I’ll just bear with it.
If you could only use one word for the rest of your life, what word would you choose?
I don’t think there’s any real good answer here.
I’ll go with “Thanks”.
What are your dreams and ambitions?
These questions are really all over the place, aren’t they?
My dream is to have a beautiful wife, a large family (5+ kids), live in a rural area, and be self-employed.
You’ve been given an elephant. You can’t get rid of it. What would you do with it?
Assuming I don’t get arrested first for having an elephant, I have to imagine that it’d die fairly soon as I couldn’t afford to keep it fed and taken care of. Not to mention I’d have no way to keep it warm. Sorry elephant.
What’s the funniest thing you’ve seen on the news?
I really like this (explicit language warning):
If you had the world’s attention for 30 seconds, what would you say?
I would read some Bible passages pertaining to salvation with a quick explanation to hopefully get some people on the right track towards being saved.
If you could be friends with a celebrity, who would it be?
Plus I don’t care for celebrities, so I can’t think of anyone anyways.
If you were to play a song you love right now, what would it be?
You asked for it!
Would you rather look like a potato, or feel like a potato?
Look like one, because potatoes can’t feel anything.
What would you do with 10 million dollars?
Divide it up into some investments and savings.
Live off of it for the rest of my life.
How can you tell if someone has a sense of humour?
The trick is to pay attention to their face.
And that does it from this massive Q&A extravaganza!
Thanks once again to everyone who submitted questions, I lost my list of tag posts that I would otherwise respond to, so I figured that doing a big community Q&A like this was basically the same deal as a couple tag posts.
Until next time,
Thanks for reading!
