A while ago I was nominated for the Sunshine Blogger Award by Chris Joynson of Never Argue with a Fish, and so here we are, responding to it.
Hey everyone, it’s Past Yomu here with a tag post.
No clue when this one will be published, but it might be a few months from when I’m writing this. It may not even be a Sunday. That said, if you leave a comment or anything like that then I’m sure that Future Yomu, who is actually Present Yomu for you, will respond.
That’s right folks, it’s time travel.
The honest kind.
- Thank the person who nominated you and provide a link to their blog so that other people can visit them
- Answer the 11 questions put to you by the nominator
- Nominate 11 bloggers of your choosing and provide them with a new set of 11 questions to answer
- Notify the nominees by commenting on one of their blog posts
- List the (pesky) rules and display The Sunshine Blogger Award logo within your post or on your blog site
First off, once again, thanks Chris Joynson for the tag.
Seeing as we have the same first name, if you ever end up in Japan, I’ll let you borrow my stamp should you need to stamp any documents. Because my stamp has my first name on it in katakana. Probably not allowed, but how would they know any better right?
Speaking of, I’m breaking more rules here.
So let’s skip the logo and get right into the questions.
1. What one silly, inconsequential thing makes you happy every single time you come across it (for example cat videos or that moment you get to pop some bubble wrap)?
I’m always, always down for a glass of cold water.
99% of what I drink is water, as I don’t drink alcohol and only have carbonated drinks when I get a combo at a fast food place.
A glass of cold water never gets old though, no matter how much I drink there are always so many moments where I stop and think “damn, this is some good stuff”.
I guess it’s not that silly or inconsequential though, as it’s a good habit to drink plenty of water!
2. What’s your favourite fandom to be a part of?
I’ve never really considered myself a part of a fandom. When it comes to anime and whatnot, to me it’s more that people might happen to like the same things as I do and that’s about it.
That said, I guess if there was anything I’d be a part of a fandom for it’d be Paradox games such as Crusader Kings 2, Europa Universalis IV, Victoria 2, Hearts of Iron IV… because I do browse subreddits for these games every once in a while.
3. Do you prefer Summer or Winter? Why?
This is an interesting one, because just one year ago I would have said winter, without a doubt. However, last summer, I went out on a lot of walks and runs and found myself absolutely loving the sweltering heat. I don’t know what it is, but something about my entire body radiating with heat, just absorbing it all… I loved it.
So I’ll go with summer now. Plus the weather is so nice during the summer, I’ve come to really love just soaking up that sunlight. I get a real nice tan too.
4. What’s one language you’d like to master more than any other?
Japanese of course. At the moment, long-form sentences are the bane of my existence. It’s so much easier to just speak in very short sentences, but obviously conversations don’t work well when you just say things like “Yes”, “I understand”, “What’s that?”. Plus it’s hard to project personality, and be funny like that.
All in time though, hopefully formulating longer sentences will come more naturally with time and exposure.
5. What’s your party trick?
Party? What’s that?
6. This question is mostly filler, what score would you give it out of 10?
I’ll give it a 4.
7. What’s the one piece of technology you couldn’t live without?
As much as I pride myself on being able to fast and go days without food, I admit that for me, a real fast would be to go without a computer for days. So for me right now, it’d definitely be my laptop.
I need it for anime, blogging, surfing the web…
A phone just isn’t the same.
8. Your house is about to be sucked into a black hole, what’s the one thing you grab before you try to escape?
There’s no way I’m escaping, and if it’s a black hole, then the Earth is doomed anyways right? If anything, I’ll grab my phone to try and say some goodbyes.
9. You get to travel to one fictional world, where are you headed?
Well, there’s this fictional world that I just thought up that is EXACTLY the same as this one, only in the fictional world I have the ability to rewrite my DNA to make myself infinitely stronger, faster, smarter… just kidding.
I’d visit that cutesy fantasy world from Dog Days, because it’s a really cool fantasy world, but there’d be no risk of me dying. Plus it’s filled with cute girls. I’d totally travel there, and not want to leave probably! Now I want to rewatch Dog Days!
10. Your life is now a musical, what’s the opening number called?
Actually, I’m not that bad at singing. I’ve gotten quite good and expanded my range a bit from practicing in the car – songs I couldn’t sing before I can now sing, which is cool. So I’m happy my range has gotten better. Whether I actually sound good or not though I don’t know.
So let’s go with “Yomu is the Greatest Ever”.
11. How much anime is too much anime?
I’d say maybe 5 or more episodes in a night is too much for me.
Even if I’m really enjoying something so much that I can’t stop, the next night I’ll realize how many episodes I plowed through and get mad at my past self for hogging all the episodes.
Nothing worse than when I’m really hooked on something, looking forward to watching it before I go to sleep, and noticing that there’s only like one or two episodes left because I went a little too crazy in prior nights!
And that does it for this Sunshine Blogger Award.
I don’t feel like coming up with 11 new questions, so I’m breaking those rules too. Anyone interested can use Chris Joynson’s questions though!
And thanks again for the questions Chris!
Until next time,
Thanks for reading.
