Carrying on from the last few episodes, Yuki is still experiencing some sort of identity crisis.
Yuki’s still struggling with her emotions, particularly her feelings towards Kyon. The trio go to a used book festival, and then make plans to go to a summer festival later. Yuki chats with Asakura about her love for Kyon. The next day Yuki realizes that her personality is going to shift back to the old Yuki. Knowing this, she musters of the courage to call Kyon and tell him how she feels, before falling asleep and reverting back to the original Yuki.
Hmm, well just like that Yuki is back to normal. I’m not sure how I feel about the past few episodes, this little arc. It sort of feels.. pointless, although that’s bluntly put. I guess the lack of comedy and shift in tone to something more serious made me feel like there would be more implications to what was happening.
Not really sure what they were going for with all this. It’s hard to figure out if this is a slice of life, or what it’s supposed to be. I know slice of life can get serious, but this arc didn’t feel like it handled it all that well. Part of me just doesn’t care enough about Yuki’s situation, as I’m fine with both personalities anyways.
Anyways, that arc is over now, which makes me wonder if it’ll be back to regular slice of life / comedy content like before.
Until next time,
Thanks for reading.
