暁Records – イドラ・デウス -The Creator-

We were blessed with one other song by Akatsuki Records, just before Christmas time. And that was イドラ・デウス -The Creator-, or Idol Deus -The Creator-.

This one is based off of two Touhou tracks. First is Idolatrize World which you should be able to pick up the similarities right away. The main melodies for the chorus of -The Creator- are from this one. And second is Electric Heritage, from which the verses of -The Creator- were inspired by. These two tracks were combined to create a song bordering perfection itself!

High praise, I know. -The Creator-, like many other Akatsuki Records songs, took me a few times to get into. But once I was in, I was in. Still am. The chorus for -The Creator- is simply addicting! And the song just flows so nicely that I could listen to it on repeat over and over and over…

In particular, I really love the layered vocals that are used throughout, especially during the chorus. I don’t even know how to describe the effect it has on the song, other than that Stack’s vocals feel even more enjoyable to listen to when they’re layered like that. Listen for them yourself and you’ll hear what I mean, because during the chorus the song switches back and forth from layered to unlayered.

Secondly, that “na-nanananananana” part during the chorus like at 2:29. I love that. Again, how to describe this… I guess I really like how it breaks up the chorus, and adds this more gentle / melodic aspect to the chorus. I don’t even know if the sound is “na” per se, as opposed to “ya” or “la”, but you get what I’m talking about anyways.

Overall, -The Creator- is one of Akatsuki’s more powerful songs, from what I’ve covered at least, but it manages to convey the melody in a very catchy and addicting fashion that leaves me listening over and over.

I’m done with rating the songs, but -The Creator- would definitely score very high. As I said earlier, this song borders perfection!

And now we’ll have to wait and see when the next YouTube release is, hopefully we don’t have to wait too long…!

Until next time,
Thanks for reading.
