暁Records – HANIPAGANDA

They’re back!
Not that they were ever gone, but we’ve got two new songs on the Akatsuki YouTube channel. Which means I get two more songs to write about!

The song this time – HANIPAGANDA!!

The original Touhou track: Joutounin of Ceramics. It’s got quite the buildup in the beginning. The chorus is very interesting as well, almost feels too short, but it’s pretty good for what it is. I wouldn’t see myself listening to this one on repeat or anything, it’s an OK track I think.

And then there’s Akatsuki’s take on it, which is very interesting. The first several times I listened to HANIGAPANDA I didn’t really like what I was hearing, it’s such an odd song! But then the more I listened, the more I came to like it. I think listening to the Touhou original helps too.

This song is basically a good example of Stack’s vocals being stretched to the limit, with her voice being the primary vocals as well as the plethora of background vocals. This song feels like an odd combination of Stack’s “wacky” and “powerful” styles, with us getting wacky vocals on top of powerful background music.

The chorus is very similar to Watercolour Raindrop in that it sounds like a tongue twister, the way Stack sings it. Sounds difficult.

Anyways, HANIGAPANDA is a weird song.
Fun, and very weird!

I’d rate it but I feel like there’s no point in my ratings anymore, because they don’t matter and never did. I didn’t expect to basically like all the Akatsuki songs I heard when I started these posts but I pretty much have enjoyed all of them so far for some reason or another!

There’s one other song that was released also, that I’ll get to next time.

Until then,
Thanks for reading.
