Unless I get tagged for something else, this should be it for all the tag posts for a while! We’ll see, but it’s looking like this is it for now.
It’s been fun just writing a bunch of Q&A blog posts.
Let’s just get right into this one!
First, a song to set a nice warm tone..
Post theme:
The nomination for this one, the Sunshine Blogger Award, is from Matija of tfwanime! Thank you once again for the nomination! It fits perfectly with this tag post week I’ve been doing.
I believe this is my second Sunshine Blogger Award, although I could be wrong on that. Rules should be similar to what we normally see…
- Thank the person who nominated you and provide a link to their blog so that other people can visit them
- Answer the 11 questions put to you by the nominator
- Nominate 11 bloggers of your choosing and provide them with a new set of 11 questions to answer
- Notify the nominees by commenting on one of their blog posts
- List the rules and display The Sunshine Blogger Award logo within your post or on your blog site

Matija’s Questions
Which season of anime in 2019 was the best one?
It’s looking like Winter 2019 was the best one for me. Shield Hero was a real winner, and is slated to become one of the “big” isekai titles, which is awesome. I also loved Kakegurui xx, which could easily be one of my favourite anime of the year. Other than those, Mob Psycho 2 was pretty good, as was Quintuplets. Seems like a pretty good season overall.
Which anime are you most looking forward to in 2020?
Re:Zero sequel, as well as more Shield Hero, which I believe will also be airing in 2020? Either way, it’s looking great with these two big isekai titles continuing. Now we just need more Overlord, Log Horizon, and No Game No Life…
Do you have a favourite anime studio?
Overall I don’t really follow studios or even know who is who. That said, I do know of Studio Shaft, and love their works. I think their ability to differentiate and create some very abstract and amazing anime such as the Monogatari Series and Madoka is great.

Do you have a favourite voice actor?
Jouji Nakata is one of my favourites, for his deep badass voice that fits perfectly for villains. Best known for his role as Kirei Kotomine from the Fate series, at least that’s the first role I think of for him.
But also I really enjoy Tomokazu Sugita, who was the voice of Kyon in Haruhi, as well as the voice of Gintoki in Gintama. Plenty of other roles of course, but those are the two I think of immediately.
What is the longest period of time you spent without watching any anime?
Aside from the first 20ish years of my life, I guess maybe a month or two. Sometimes when I’m inbetween shows I’ll spend my evenings watching other things, and get caught up in some YouTube channels or Twitch streams.
For example, I’m a big fan of LobosJr and his various Dark Souls runs, of which there are many, and I like to watch them start to finish which often takes 10+ hours. Been watching him since he first went full-time as a streamer, and it’s always fun to catch up on his content on YouTube. Felt like I should shill for him a bit here in appreciation of his work!
At what age did you get into anime?
Well it would have been in 2012 or 2013, I don’t remember which. It was winter, so either late 2012 or early 2013. Which means I would have been 19 years old at the time!
Have you ever cosplayed?
Nope, I don’t really care for conventions or any of that.
Have you been to an anime convention?
Haha, well I guess I jumped the gun on this one.
Never been!

How popular is anime in your country?
I’m Canadian. When I was in high school, it didn’t seem very popular. I didn’t know anyone who watched anime, and it wasn’t until university that I met someone (my roommate) who did. I never even thought about it, and I think most people, myself included, just considered anime to be similar to cartoons. Not something you really think about unless you’re really into it.
I guess it’s probably different now, because anime is so much more out in the open on the internet, it’s hard not to be exposed to images of anime girls or gifs / memes from various anime. It’s probably a lot more popular now and common for people to watch or at least know about.
What anime really needs a new season?
There are many, that’s for sure.
Once again I’ll pull out my favourite, the good ol’ Mondaiji-tachi ga Isekai kara Kuru Sou Desu yo? also known as Problem children are coming from another world, aren’t they?. One of my personal favourite isekai anime, and it’s only 10 episodes long. I’d love for more of it.
I’d also be fine with any other isekai that I’ve enjoyed though, like No Game No Life, or Log Horizon, or Overlord….
What manga or light novel really needs to be adapted into anime?
If you mean a manga or light novel that currently has no adaptations in anime form whatsoever, I have no answer because I don’t read manga or light novels.
Otherwise, I’ll just say the same thing as last question: Mondaiji-tachi ga Isekai kara Kuru Sou Desu yo? also known as Problem children are coming from another world, aren’t they?. I know that the manga is wrapped up for this one now, so they have all the material they need to keep going!

Alright, for the same reasons as my last tag post, I’m going to just pass on more nominations. I’ve seen this tag going around for a long time already, and I don’t want to spam people with nominations considering I already nominated a bunch of people this week for a different tag.
That said, I’ll still come up with some questions in case anyone reading this wants to take part. Just leave a comment on the post and I’ll even ninja-edit you into the post so it seems like I had you nominated all along! That’s not cheating, is it?
My Questions

There we go, 11 questions.
Once again, if you’d like to take a gander at them, feel free to do so. You can also let me know in the comments if you’d like me to go back into this post and “officially” nominate you!

And with that, the Umai Yomu “Tag Post Week” is over.
It’s been a week of many questions, and many answers.
It’s also helped me to realize that I’d like to do more casual posts and mess around more like I used to on this blog. Episodic reviews can be fun, but I feel like things can get a bit too structured with them. I’ve still got shows to get through on this blog though, eventually, so episodic stuff isn’t off the table completely.
We’ll see what happens from here.
You just never know where life will lead you next, that’s pretty much my motto in a nutshell. So why not apply it to the blog as well, right?
Until next time,
Thanks for reading!
Congrats on the award! 😊
