暁Records – Metamorphosis

It’s time for another Friday song, this one also by Akatsuki Records!
What a coincidence!

The song this time is called Metamorphosis.

The original Touhou track is called The Concealed Four Seasons. The similarities should be immediately apparent. I actually think this is the closest resemblance we’ve had yet, at least with the main melody. We pretty much hear the exact same guitar in the beginning of Metamorphosis, before Stack’s vocals take over the melodies. The Concealed Four Seasons also has some awesome bass. Overall, it’s a pretty good track I’d say!

And the Akatsuki track is no pushover either. It comes in a little shorter than usual, at 3:28, but it’s got all of the elements that many other Akatsuki songs have: a killer Touhou melody in the form of Stack’s vocals. You can’t ask for more than that.

That said, I think the intro is actually my favourite part of this one. I like how it starts out with this ominous sound, before bringing out the electric guitar and that sweet melody to set the stage for the song. Then it’s Stack from there, which is also great.

I’m having trouble thinking of what else to write about this one, as usual it’s hard to try and describe music! Just give it a listen and hopefully everything will make more sense!

I’ll give Metamorphosis a 4.5 / 5.
A little on the short side, but it’s still very catchy and I love hearing Stack’s vocals on another great melody.
