Last episode Kaede was sick, and I was wondering why we hadn’t seen much of Primula. Looks like they decided to address that with this episode.
Brief Synopsis
Rin and friends all go to school as normal, leaving Primula behind in the house. We watch Primula walk around, looking bored. She ends up accidentally tearing her stuffed cat while watching TV, and goes to Rin’s school. She shows up at lunch and shows Rin the tear, which Kaede says she will fix it after school.
Primula leaves, but waits outside nearby. It starts raining and Rin spots her waiting in the rain, so he runs out. He notices that she isn’t wearing a bra because of her wet shirt. He tells Kaede and they arrange for a shopping trip to Primula.
The next day Rin, Nerine, Sia, Kaede, Asa, and Asa’s friend all go shopping with Primula. The girls all end up getting distracted by Rin, so he leaves. He remembers Primula wanting a stuffed cat from a crane game, and begins searching stores for a stuffed cat for Primula. Eventually the girls finish buying clothes for Primula and they meet up with Rin, who gives her a new stuffed cat toy, causing Primula to smile.
Episode Thoughts
Well, it was nice to see Primula, but once again Shuffle! is proving to be a very bland anime. It just doesn’t feel like anything interesting is happening – just very regular everyday things. And while that works for many slice of life anime, usually comedy is mixed in to make things more enjoyable. Shuffle! has had a couple funny moments, but for the most part it’s lacking in the humour department.
Not much else to say about this episode. Primula got a new stuffed cat.
In Conclusion…
Going to keep at it on this series, because I have to think that the anime will pick up at some point. It sort of feels like we’re going through the motions, an introductory period or something. Hopefully that’s actually the case, and we get some interesting plotlines later on.
