暁Records – コマノエール -全力貢献中!!

Well hello there, and welcome to another Akatsuki Records song + PV, although I mainly just review the song.

The song this time around is コマノエール -全力貢献中!!

My best efforts at translating this amounted to the title of:
Komano – I’m doing my best!!

Komano being the name of the green haired Touhou girl in the PV, and well, I guess she’s doing her best.

The original Touhou song is A Pair of Divine Beasts. A very different tone, but you can definitely pick up on the similarities, which is the melody used at the very beginning of both songs (12 seconds in on the Akatsuki song). Basically the Akatsuki version sounds like it took this melody from the Touhou track and sped it up / increased the pitch.

I really like the original track, and perhaps this is because I’ve heard Komano – I’m Doing My Best!! so much already that I like the fresh take on the song that is the original.

But there is one other thing, and that’s the sort of childish style the song has taken. Very much like ココロコイシ-Eyes- and ワガママ ONE DAY!. It seems that they build these songs around the vocalist, めらみぽっぷ, (Merami Pop). Her voice is great for these very energetic songs, and it’s a lot different from Stack’s wacky voice like from Treasure Cirno.

The chorus in particular I thought was very good in this song, and quite catchy.

I’m going to give コマノエール -全力貢献中!! a 3.75 / 5.
It’s a fun song, but I almost prefer the Touhou original to this one!
