暁Records – 二人の結晶-INNOCENCE-

Time for another Akatsuki Records special.
This time around, the sister song to the last Akatsuki Records song I featured, which was called 神様Stories -INNOCENT-, or God Stories -INNOCENT-. In fact, both of these songs appear to have been released on the same day, which was Christmas Day in 2017.
That’s pretty neat.

And so this song is 二人の結晶-INNOCENCE-.
Otherwise called A Crystal of Two People – INNOCENCE-.
Or maybe it’s Two People’s Crystal -INNOCENCE- ?
Something like that at least. I’ll just call it -INNOCENCE- going forward.

All right, it took a little hunting to find the original ZUN track(s) for this one. First is the main melody, which comes from the song Girl’s Sealing Club. Should be immediately recognizable. The other song they list as an original is Greenwich in the Sky, which I’m just not hearing in -INNOCENCE- at all, despite really listening for it. Maybe it’s a more subtle inspiration.

Anyways, like a broken record, I have to once again state my amazement at how Akatsuki Records managed to transform that melody from Girl’s Sealing Club. I mean, you listen to it and it’s a pretty simple melody. It even feels a bit disjointed because of the way it’s played, being a keyboard and all. And then you go from that to -INNOCENCE- and it just comes alive! These songs never cease to amaze me, and listening to the side-by-side always manages to amaze me even more.

I’ve come to love all of the vocalists in these Akatsuki Records songs, although I never even noticed that they were listed in the video descriptions until now… the vocalist for this song is Stack, someone who also does many other songs such as Girl’s Salvation Theory, KILLOVE FIREPROOF, and.. well most of them from what I’m seeing here. Maybe there is more than one vocalist behind the name Stack after all…

-INNOCENCE- has quickly become a favourite of mine. Notice the pattern yet? I just jump from favourite to favourite with this group. I absolutely love the melodies in this song, and the way they are used during the chorus. Once again, the vocals are outstanding. I pretty much have been repeating the same analysis since I’ve started featuring Akatsuki Records songs here!

Have I told you about how much I love the vocals?
Haha.

Anyways, 二人の結晶-INNOCENCE- gets a 5 / 5.
I’ll give it a 0.1 rating higher than it’s sister song.
Because I really loved the vocals.

Until next time,
Thanks for reading!
