Has writing become a chore?

I know what you’re thinking – “Yomu, what are you on about now? How are you going to help ME find positivity in MY blog?!”.

The thing is, this blogging technique I am about to share with you is something that we all have access to. It’s a well hidden secret, I must admit. Even I underestimated it. But now I am about to share it with you all – the method to find positivity in your blog.

The answer is in your spam folder!

As it turns out, the bots that are constantly spamming our blogs with links to sketchy gambling websites actually have a lot of nice things to say! The trick is simply to pretend that these aren’t comments from bots, but are actually genuine comments from real people. Take advantage of them!

Allow me to demonstrate with some of my own lovely spam-flagged comments.

Hey what’s up to you bandarq 365? I’m glad you’re so eager to read my regular posts.
You bet they contain some good data! Thanks for the comment.

Life sure is full of activity these days, isn’t it modern cat tree? Well, I’m glad you managed to find my blog in order to get the the most up-to-date information on anime, even if I’m not watching any currently airing titles at the moment.

Hey thanks for the kind words sirinevler escort. I’m flattered that you think this is a custom made WordPress theme! In reality, it’s one of the standard free themes, it’s called Twenty Eleven. You’re very welcome!

Clearly your relatives don’t realize that you are browsing such high quality content here at the Umai Yomu Anime Blog, daduqq! I’m glad that you understand though, and appreciate the hard work I put into writing such fastidious content.

Thanks for the comment Jose. I’m glad my post had such a positive effect on you. Believe it or not, I haven’t written any ebooks about Uchuu Senkan Yamato 2199! You’ve got a point though, maybe I should include more percentages in my reviews.

I imagine you must be referring to my Akatsuki Records posts, where I rate the amazing musical works of Akatsuki Records. I’m glad you enjoy them – they are indeed of the highest quality. I almost exclusively listen to Akatsuki Records while I’m writing posts just like this one!

As for spam, well actually I do get a lot of spam. In fact, this comment of yours was flagged as spam. My website uses Akismet to filter out spam comments, you should have no trouble finding it. It should be one of the top recommended WordPress plugins. It really is the little changes that will make the largest changes, isn’t it? I’m using the free Twenty Eleven WordPress theme, just search ‘Twenty Eleven” and you’ll find it.

Thanks for the kind words Jose!

All right, listen pal. I don’t know who you think you are, but that post you’re commenting on? There’s no video – why are you giving me flak for relying too much on a video? Waste of intelligence? Maybe you should look in a mirror sometime. Only a small fraction of my blog posts contain embedded YouTube videos, and ALL of them are music related. You can take a hike, bandarqiu.

Hey thanks! I’ve been “unofficially” blogging for slightly over a year. Well, I’d actually agree that blogging has become easier since I started writing about anime on an episodic basis, because coming up with post ideas is tough! Glad to hear you like the look of the website and the content!

See what I mean? Nothing like a few friendly bot comments to brighten your day and bring some positivity to your blog! Even if you aren’t getting very many genuine comments, at least you can always rely on the bots to provide some great compliments and kind words.

So the next time you feel like your blog is a bit neglected, or would like some interaction, check out your spam flagged comments! It can be a fun way to find some positivity. This was a lot of fun!

Also, if you leave a comment, I’ll leave a nice comment on one of your posts in return!
If anything, we could probably learn a thing or two from these bots. 🙂

Until next time,
Thanks for reading!

  1. i get literal spam from real people. I once got a dude spamming his idea for a light novel and it’s seven paragraphs long, as long as my reviews. I also got one promoting his book about his sci fi story about jesus. This approach of remotivation doesn’t work for me, because humanity is just stupid and the spams doesn’t even represent half of it. xD

  2. Mostly I just get people spamming links though I have a couple that spam me with religious philosophy (completely without context mind you). I clear my spam folder daily mostly because occasionally it catches real comments that I need to approve and I don’t want to lose those comments under pages of spam.

  3. Sometimes you got to take what you can get. Glad you have such an optimistic outlook to have such a cheerful enjoyment of spam comments. Hope you keep up the good writing, I’d enjoy hearing more of your perspective on Clannad. Hope you get the same enjoyment out of this human generated comment… but I might be a spam bot too, hard to say these days.

    1. Haha, your comment makes too much sense to be a bot, although there is some subreddit that’s only bots and I’ve seen screenshots of some eerily human looking comments!

Also glad you’re enjoying the Clannad posts, such a beloved series, I’m happy to hear people are enjoying them. Thanks!

  4. That introduction alone is enough to make me spit take…. hahaha… fortunately I wasn’t drinking anything.

Yes, replying to spam can be amusing. Have you heard of James Veitch? Yeah, amusing.

I look at my spam folder and look at it with surprise because.. it is empty. I suppose no one bothered to bother me with such bothersome spam in real life.

    1. It takes a special post to get spam haha. For me there are maybe 3 or 4 posts, and a certain image that get all of the spam, so I guess theres something about them that made the bots able to find them in the first place.

  6. After hurting my back I’ve spent the entire day laying in bed feeling sorry for myself. This post gave me the laugh I so desperately needed! I’ll definitely be coming back to Umai Yomu for more fastidious content such as this! X D
