A while back I posted about 9 anime I wanted to rewatch, and if you haven’t noticed, I’ve actually started to follow through with this!
What can I say? I’m a man of my word.
To be honest though, this is something that sort of just happened, or began to happen. And so far, the nostalgia has been outstanding.
This post is my attempt to stall for time while I get some of these rewatch posts ready.
This won’t be a very long post, but here’s what I’m working on and planning on working on.
1. Anime A to Z: V – Vandread
For a long time now, I knew that Vandread would be my pick for anime V. It’s the first non Pokemon / Dragon Ball Z anime I ever watched, and the anime that got me interested in watching anime. I’ve been watching it for about a week now, and I’ve been enjoying it so much that I’m actually almost done both seasons already! I wasn’t sure how I would feel about Vandread, because I’d had this impression that I’m more picky with anime now than I was back then. I feel like I have a better understanding of what I enjoy and what I don’t.
The crazy thing about this is that I actually think I’m enjoying Vandread more now than I did the first time I saw it. I guess my old “unrefined” anime tastes weren’t so bad after all!
After I started Vandread, it was time for another rewatch. Not really though, in reality, I wanted something that I could watch and write about on an episodic basis. I’ve been pretty good with the daily blog posts, and I wanted an anime to write about to keep that going. It’s been great so far! I’ve been very surprised at just how much I had forgotten from the anime, and also at how great the anime has held up.
3. Date A Live
While I haven’t posted about it yet, I’m planning on writing some posts for Date A Live, which I will be rewatching shortly! Still not sure if I’m going to just write season reviews, or episodic. I’m leaning towards episodic, because I want to improve my format and writing ability for those posts – I felt like I rambled a bit too much in my Pastel Memories episodic posts. Plus it’s great for content I think, and allows me to share more screencaps.
Same deal as with Date A Live, I’m planning on rewatching Ikkitousen as well! Planning on writing episodic for this one. Rewatching Ikkitousen is my attempt to rekindle the love for ecchi that I once had – it’s also a great excuse for me to get some nice screencaps to share. 🙂
Going to start with season one, and see what I’m feeling from there. I could very well end up covering every season if I enjoy it!
5. Clannad + After Story
Clannad is the last rewatch in the works. This would be another episodic deal. I’ve realized that episodic posting is not only great for learning how to write more concisely, but it still doesn’t prevent me from writing a full-blown review after all is said and done. I also feel like writing a review is much easier and more on point when I’ve written about each episode.
Clannad will probably be a little further out though. Maybe a few weeks?
I need more time to prepare..
Aside from these, the last rewatch I’m for sure planning on is Seitokai no Ichizon, but I feel like there’s a lot here so that will be even more further out than Clannad. That said, who knows. I may end up shuffling things around, or biting off more than I can chew!
With all of these anime to watch, I may even be able to double-post some days.
Will have to see how it goes, and if I can keep it up!
No promises on anything though.
Except Haruhi and Vandread.
After all, this is just a low-effort post I wrote in a order to keep my posting streak going.
If you’ve made it this far, consider yourself a valued reader of the Umai Yomu Anime Blog. I’ve probably already shared this before, but have this song as a token of my appreciation:
Until next time,
Thanks for reading.
