暁Records Song Review – WARNING×WARNING×WARNING

Something that I really enjoy about these 暁Records (Akatsuki Records) songs is that they all feel and sound so different. And this is due to the fact that these songs each use a different Touhou track as inspiration. Not only that, but the PV’s themselves are also very well done and fun to watch.

Last song I reviewed was LOVE EAST.
This time I’ll write a few words for WARNING×WARNING×WARNING:

First off, this song was based off of the Touhou track – Pierrot of the Star Spangled Banner. A very cool track, and you can notice the similarities to WARNING×3 almost immediately. It’s an interesting experience to listen to the original, and then listen to how 暁Records interprets it into a full fledged song with vocals.

It’s a great transformative experience.
I really get the sense that someone had a vision, and they made it happen. It’s so impressive to take these Touhou tracks and turn them into songs that have so much depth and feeling. It’s just such a change that you can tell a lot of work went into it – even with the inspiration, a lot happened to make this song the way it is. Like going from 2D to 3D, it’s no easy task. And the final product sounds awesome.

Now just like LOVE EAST, WARNING×3 is a bit on the wacky side.
The vocalist is different for this one, but she’s also great. Her voice manages to sound just as wacky as the vocalist for LOVE EAST. And just like LOVE EAST, WARNING×3 is a bit of a wild ride!

Overall, it’s a good song.
True to the nature of Touhou music, it’s very catchy, and I easily find myself listening to it over and over.

I only have one issue with WARNING×3, and it’s the verses. For example, from 28 seconds to 50 seconds of the song. It’s just a bit boring at these parts, compared to the rest of the song. Lacks the wackiness of the rest of the song, and stands out as a result. That’s the impression I get from the verses.

The rest of the song has a great wacky and upbeat feel.
Compared to LOVE EAST, I’d say WARNING×3 is less upbeat, but more wacky – if that makes any sense.

I’m no musical expert or anything though, so I’ll just end it with a score.
I’ll rate WARNING×3 a 4.5 / 5.

It’s catchy, it’s fun, and it’s wacky.
Aside from a few moments where the song feels regular, it’s a very unique song of the likes that I would expect from 暁Records!

Until next time.
Thanks for reading!
