I wanted to write a post just to officially confirm details for the collab!
(If you don’t know what it is you can read about it here).
The anime will be This Art Club Has a Problem!.
The collab will begin on Jan 7th.
Everyone is welcome to join in!
Stay tuned for my post with episode 1 themes at 12pm (EST) on Jan 7th.
I think I’ve come up with some good ones to choose from!
Most of the responses I received regarding the anime choice were in relation to This Art Club Has a Problem!. I apologize if you were more interested in True Tears – but maybe this anime can be used in a future collab or something (I have a few other ideas, but one collab at a time!), because I was also a bit interested in the anime, which is why I suggested it as a potential option. I guess we’ll see!
So yeah, mainly wanted to confirm that now so you all have a few days notice at least before I post the epsiode 1 themes. I think you probably already knew this or figured as much, but hey might as well get the official word out.
In other news, I’ve been hooked on another Japanese (anime?) song (so nothing new really).
Check it out:
Very cool. Love the piano and vocals, and it gives off this great fantasy / epic feel.
I’ve really gone through a bit of a progression with Japanese / anime music. One of these days I’m going to write a post with all of the Japanese artists that I’ve cycled through, mainly thanks to YouTube. I find an artist with a song I like, and YouTube just suggests more of their songs to me. Eventually I find another new artist and the cycle continues. I’ve discovered a few really great artists now, and my Japanese music playlist is ~50 songs.
Considering I listened to electronic & melodic dubstep for several years and that playlist is at ~220 songs, it’s pretty nice to have expanded the Japanese playlist to a good size so quickly. I find that a bigger playlist makes each song more enjoyable because they become less frequent and more “rare” to hear. More of those “oh yeah, this is a good song” moments, or those “I forgot about this one!” moments. Depth in a playlist is a nice thing I think.
What else is there to write about here..
Well I never wrote a new years post, I don’t normally do resolutions.
That being said, over the Christmas break I decided to get back into gear with a few things.
The arthritis in my right hand has completely cleared up (and has been for a while really), so no more excuses for me to not play the piano. I’ve been playing again for a little over a week now, even if for just ~30 min a day. Thankfully the muscle memory is still all good. 3 months of no playing and I can still sit down and play Unjust Life & Ichiban no Takaramono as if I never stopped. Well, with a tiny bit of rust, but it’s still pretty nice. That’s the benefit of having played a song 1000+ times!
I’ve started learning Japanese on Duolingo. Not sure if this is the best way to learn or not, but it’s easy and I can just look at it for 30 min or so every night which is convenient. Main motivation for this is that I’d like to visit Japan this year, likely later on in the Fall. I might as well see what I can learn, it’d be more fun if I could somewhat hold a conversation when I visit, considering I would be going alone.
We’ll see where my life ends up in terms of employment, what a roller coaster it’s been. A year ago I was a NEET living on the other side of the country, in the summer I moved back in with my parents and got a part time job working at a hardware store, now I’m working full time as an Inventory Analyst, but looking at starting my own assembly business. I guess I just can’t stop walking through open doors haha. Still, I’m hoping that this assembly business works out. I’ve got some stores to contact and see if they are interested, so whether this business becomes reality or not all rides on that. I’ve also got Amazon which I am looking to get some more products into in the Spring.
Plus there’s this blog! I’ve managed to pick up the posts a bit which is great. It’s always fun to write when I know what I want to write about. Going to try my hand at episodic reviews for Circlet Princess and Pastel Memories for Winter 2019 anime, the two that seemed the most interesting to me. And then there’s the collab too, which I am very excited about.
Lots of potential in 2019!
Thanks to everyone who has supported this blog.
It’s much appreciated and interacting with you all makes this hobby very enjoyable.
You’re the best, and I wish you all a great 2019.
Until next time.
Thanks for reading!
