I have returned.
There is a great story behind this. Well, it’s an okay story.
There is a story behind this.
I tagged Eumiiboo after my first Brotherhood of the World Award post. Eumiiboo decided to tag me back, and also tagged Average Joe Reviews, who proceeded to tag me as well! So now that my tag has rebounded back to me, should I rebound it back and get round 3 started? Keep reading this post to find out!
Does my rank within the Brotherhood of of the World Bloggers increase with each nomination? Yes. I am now Brother Yomu². You can still call me Brother Yomu if you wish however. With each post I become more influential within the Brotherhood.
Let’s get the rules back in here:
- Thank the person who nominated you and link back to their blog.
- Answer the questions sent to you.
- Nominate around 10 bloggers.
- Create your own set of questions for your nominees and display the rules.
And with that I will impart more wisdom upon you all.
I’m in a search for a horror or psychological anime, is there any that you can recommend me?
So, it’s “technically” neither a horror nor a psychological anime. However, Rokka no Yuusha is the first anime that came to my mind when I tried to think of a psychological anime (I don’t watch much horror). It’s not tagged as such, but I believe it somewhat fits the bill as a psychological anime, although it is a mystery. It’s like a Clue type of mystery where everyone is a suspect. Great suspense, and it has that psychological feel. That “killer among us” vibe.
So that’s my pick. MyAnimeList may not have it tagged as such, but I’m going to say that Rokka no Yuusha is a good choice for what you are looking for. I remember enjoying it quite a bit when I originally saw it.
What’s an underrated anime character that you actually like?
I’m not entirely sure what the popular opinions are on specific characters for most anime. BUT, lucky for me, there is an entire Gintama arc devoted to this!
With the results of that poll in mind, the most underrated character that I actually like from Gintama is: Shinpachi’s Glasses, which comes in at #45 on the popularity poll (see 2nd poll on this page).
I genuinely believe that Shinpachi’s Glasses is one of the best characters in Gintama, so naturally he is an underrated character that I actually like.
What anime character of your opposite gender do you think personifies you?
Really asking the tough questions here.
Even in my infinite wisdom this is one that has never crossed my mind.
Pondered this one while looking through my list for a while. Closest character I can think of is Horikita Suzune from Classroom of the Elite. The way that she starts out isolating herself from others, extremely focused on independence. She is very intelligent (just like myself), but begins to learn how rewarding it can be to work with others, and be mindful of them.
I used to look down on my peers a lot on high school, and even university like Horikita looks down on her peers in the beginning of Classroom of the Elite. I hated group work and always wanted to do things on my own. And just like her, I’ve learned a lot since then about being more involved with others, and the real benefits to being more open in this sense.
The only thing missing is a sense of humor, because I like to believe I have a good sense of humor which I use quite frequently in my everyday life. So that would be the biggest aspect I think that I don’t share with Horikita. I’m sure there is a better female character in anime out there that would personify me, but this is all I have for now on this question.
By far, what’s your favorite Meme, and why?
Well, of the somewhat recent memes, my favourite is the “Everyone Joins The Battle!” / Smash Teaser meme. In case you haven’t seen it, here is an anime version of it (:
Edit: Looks like the YouTube video has died. Sorry!
Average Joe’s Questions
What job / profession would you want to have an anime based around?
Medieval tax collector would be pretty neat. Could fit into a fantasy style anime, which I’d enjoy. But I wouldn’t mind a historical anime for something like that too. Sort of like with Spice & Wolf, I find myself wanting to watch an anime that focuses a little less on war and more on a job / role that we don’t see often in a historical / fantasy setting.
In a format of around 100 to 200 words. What anime character do you feel is overrated and why?
Saber from Fate/Zero and Fate/stay night Unlimited Blade Works. Haven’t seen any other Fate/ anime, so I’ll just use those two, although I would not be surprised if Saber appears in the other Fate/ renditions as well.
I just think Saber is a boring character. Nothing really jumps out to me as interesting or neat about Saber. She is just this “honourable” knight type. I think they like re-using her solely because of her appearance / design, because she looks great. It’s just unfortunate that her personality itself is very bland and predictable. I’d personally rather see a different character in the “Saber” class in the series, but considering I’ve only seen those two renditions of Fate/ anime, maybe they do switch it up at some point.
Either way, that’s my pick for an overrated character.
If you could erase any song from history, what song would it be and why?
I think anyone who has worked in retail could relate to this sentiment. I’d remove Christmas songs, or at least any and all remakes. Nothing like listening to the same song only sung by twelve different artists in one day, all of November to December, to make you not like a song. There’s not one in particular that I hate the most, I just dislike Christmas songs in general because the whole Christmas music industry is a joke – artists all just perform the exact same songs. It’s just become this whole consumerist / corporate marketing scheme, playing the same songs over and over to try and get people “in the spirit” of buying stuff.
Can SOMEONE try to make a new song a Christmas hit? Maybe we can add at least one or two new songs to the yearly radio Christmas playlist? Would be nice to see an attempt at this!
What’s your favorite Dere and why? (Also who from that dere do you like?)
This is a tough one, because the only dere’s I know are tsundere, yandere, and himedere (which is basically just tsundere).
So I’ll go with tsundere I guess.
Not sure there is one that I like though.
So now we are back to nominations.
I think I’m going to pass on another round though. Not only can I not come up with any questions, but this is the second round. Bringing others into a second / third round would probably be a bit much (plus they would begin to challenge my influence within the Brotherhood…).
That’s all for now, hope you all enjoyed these answers.
Until next time.
Thanks for reading. 🙂
